Rabbi Yossef Harari-Raful

Rabbi Yosef Harari-Raful serves as the Assistant Rabbi and Cantor at Native Ezra Synagogue, a prestigious and well-established Sephardic community in Miami, Florida.

Background and Education Born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. He studied at Yeshivat Torah Ohr and later at Yeshivat Nachlat David. Already in his youth, he studied at a yeshiva in Mexico under the influence of Rabbi Shaul Maleh. He subsequently studied at Yeshivat Mir, as well as in the Kollel darkei Hora’ah for lerabanim of Rabbi Mordechai Eliahu. He received his rabbinical ordination after comprehensive studies and evaluations, and was also authorized to officiate at weddings (Chuppah and Kiddushin) by the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, and Rabbi Eliyahu Bar Shalom. Rabbi Raful is fluent in Hebrew, Spanish, and English.

Arrival in Miami and Community Development After his marriage, in 2008, Rabbi Raful moved to Miami to assist his father-in-law in developing and expanding the Native Ezra community. Together they led the community to impressive growth, transforming it into the thriving and flourishing Sephardic center it is today.

Current Roles and Contribution to the Community Rabbi Raful is involved in a variety of key roles in the community: • Assistant Rabbi and Cantor at Native Ezra Synagogue • Director of Outreach at the Zucker Jewish Academy in Hollywood, Florida • Studies at the Netivei Ezra Kollel • Director of the Mark Sutton Netivei Ezra Daycare Center • Teaches children and prepares them to read from the Torah for their Bar Mitzvah • Delivers daily classes as well as private lessons
